In January 2021, Amélie started her first job as an archives assistant in a small association. She already knew the place: she had done a placement there from February to May 2020. When she joined the team as an employee, she therefore had experience of the organisation, but had not yet held a job in that profession.
Her document-management certificate dated from June 2020. She had obtained it after training begun in September 2019. During that year, she had learned about filing, describing documents and tracking requests. The placement had preceded the awarding of the certificate; it was not a job after training.
Well before this career change, Amélie had obtained a history degree, in 2012. From 2013, she had worked in a bookshop, where she stayed until the end of 2018. During that period, she had begun taking an interest in old documents, without yet knowing how to make it a professional activity.
Today, she clearly distinguishes these stages when presenting her background. Her degree predates the change of direction. The certificate belongs to the retraining course. Finally, the 2021 appointment is a new stage: it changes neither the dates of her qualifications nor the status of her former placement.
