Sorting game

Choose a French outfit for a stated dress requirement

Sort eight outfits against a supplied French event note. Check both the dark-top requirement and closed shoes, using explicit colours rather than assumptions.

In short

Check both requirements in the supplied note: an accepted dark top and closed footwear. A black jumper with open sandals fails the shoe rule; a white shirt with closed shoes fails the top-colour rule. The exercise’s note explicitly defines which colours count as dark.

The event organiser gives two clothing requirements. Each card names a top and footwear, including whether the footwear is open or closed. Sort the complete outfit by checking its top colour first and its footwear second.

Only the printed colour list and footwear condition determine the sorting answers.

Does the whole outfit meet both conditions?

Tap a word, then the box it belongs in.

Passing one requirement is not enough

The white shirt outfit has the right footwear but the wrong top colour for this notice. The black jumper with sandals has the right top colour but the wrong footwear. The accepted outfit needs both conditions at once. You do not need to guess how dark a pictured shade looks because the colour names are printed.

A quick two-question method
QuestionIf yesIf no
Is the top one of the listed dark colours?Check the footwear next. The outfit does not meet the note.
Is the footwear explicitly closed? Both conditions are met if the top also passed. The outfit does not meet the note.

Foncé and clair matter to the decision

Gris foncé means dark grey, while gris clair means light grey. The note accepts the first and excludes the second for the top. Bleu marine is the named navy shade. In these colour descriptions, the multiword colour phrase stays unchanged: une chemise bleu marine, des chemises bleu marine.

Je choisis un pull noir et des chaussures fermées.

I choose a black jumper and closed shoes.

Question 1No account needed
Does a dark top alone satisfy the whole note?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

No, the footwear must also be closed. The note gives two requirements, including des chaussures fermées.

Question 2No account needed
Which grey top is explicitly accepted?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Gris foncé. The supplied list accepts gris foncé, not the light-grey description.

Question 3No account needed
Which outfit meets both conditions?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

A navy shirt with closed shoes. Navy is listed as an accepted dark top colour, and the shoes are closed.

For a real event, read the organiser’s actual note. If the wording names only dark clothing without defining the shade, you may need a clarification. In this exercise, the explicit list removes that uncertainty and lets you practise combining two conditions accurately.
