How do you order a cold drink in French?
In restaurants, tap water is free: ask for une carafe d'eau. If you say de l'eau, you may be offered a paid bottle (une bouteille d'eau minérale). Une limonade in France is clear and fizzy, like lemonade in the UK; fresh lemon juice is un citron pressé, served with water and sugar so you mix it yourself.
