In short

Name the source again when the claim changes owner. Selon l’équipe technique introduces the team’s assessment; it cannot also identify a request made by residents. Keep the reporting verb precise: estime reports a judgement, while demande reports a request.

How do you attribute a claim to a source in French?

Selon l’équipe technique, la salle sera utilisable après une vérification du matériel. Un essai ouvert au public est nécessaire. Il aura lieu bientôt.

According to the technical team, the room will be usable after an equipment check. A trial open to the public is necessary. It will take place soon.

The second sentence hides the collective and turns a request into a requirement. The last sentence adds a timetable.

  • Un essai ouvert au public est nécessaire.Le collectif d’habitants demande un essai ouvert au public.

Name the collective and keep its request as a request.

  • Il aura lieu bientôt.Les deux notes ne précisent pas la date de cet essai.

The notes provide no date. A future announcement goes beyond their content.

A paragraph with clear ownership

L’équipe technique estime que la salle sera utilisable après une vérification du matériel. De son côté, le collectif d’habitants demande un essai ouvert au public. Les deux notes ne précisent pas la date de cet essai.

The technical team considers that the room will be usable after an equipment check. For its part, the residents’ collective asks for a trial open to the public. The two notes do not specify the date of that trial.

De son côté introduces another contribution. It fits because a request for a public trial can coexist with the technical assessment. En revanche would suggest a contrast that these notes do not establish. The last sentence describes the supplied material; the first two report the groups’ positions.

Two plural groups precede ils. What is the clearest repair?
