A French draft's revisions: correction before approval before final copy

Order French draft revisions, approval and a later substantive edit. Identify which version was approved from the supplied record rather than file date alone.

In short

Approval attaches to the specified version and content, not automatically to the newest file. Track the correction, approval and later edit separately. A post-approval change to eligibility can require a new decision.

A notice moves through three versions. The committee approves version B after a language correction. Version C then changes who may register. The record lets you identify the approved policy and the status of the later file without relying only on its modification date.

A later file can be less ready to send

Version C is newer but contains a substantive extension. The record says it has not been put to the committee. Version B is the one explicitly approved. This does not imply that every typo correction always needs fresh approval; the supplied later change concerns eligibility, which alters the decision.

La version B a été approuvée ; l’extension introduite dans C reste à examiner.

Version B was approved; the extension introduced in C remains to be examined.

Question 1No account needed
Which version is explicitly approved?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

B. The 5 June decision names version B attached to the message.

Question 2No account needed
Why is C substantive?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

It changes the eligible group. Replacing the limited public with all residents extends who can use the reception route.

Question 3No account needed
What does the latest file date alone establish?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Only that the file is later, not its approval status. A modification date does not identify an approval decision or its scope.

When preparing a final copy, keep the version reference in the decision record. A useful handover names both current approved wording and pending change: B est validée ; C contient une proposition d’extension. This prevents an editorial workflow from silently becoming a policy change.
