Why aller is worth drilling
An irregular verb you use every day
Aller looks like a regular -er verb but isn’t: three forms start with v- (vais, vas, va), nous allons and vous allez keep the infinitive’s stem, and ils vont is short and easy to confuse with ils ont and ils sont.
It also builds the near future. Put the right form of aller before an infinitive and you can talk about plans without learning a new tense: demain, je vais appeler ma sœur.
Two things learners often write: je va (it is je vais) and vous allé (it is vous allez, pronounced the same).
