Dialogue

Ask in French what happens if you decline a recording

Practise a sixteen-turn French conversation about declining a recording, asking about alternatives and confirming how participation will work.

In short

Ask whether recording is optional, what alternative exists and what refusal changes: Si je préfère ne pas être enregistré, puis-je participer autrement ? Then confirm the concrete arrangement rather than assuming what the organiser will do.

You are joining a practice workshop. The organiser proposes recording a discussion for internal feedback. You want to participate but prefer an unrecorded option. In this exchange, the organiser explains the arrangements for this workshop; your questions keep recording, participation and feedback as separate issues.

Your lines are hidden in practice mode. Say them aloud, then reveal to compare.

Ask about each consequence separately

The first question establishes whether recording is a condition of participation. The later questions ask whether the activity and feedback change. The note-taking question adds a separate concern: declining audio does not automatically mean that no information is written down. Summarising the chosen option at the end lets the organiser correct any misunderstanding before the activity begins.

Question 1No account needed
What alternative is offered in this workshop?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

An unrecorded group with notes for feedback. The organiser describes a separate unrecorded group and note-based feedback.

Question 2No account needed
Does declining audio remove note-taking in this exchange?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

No, the facilitator explains the notes separately.. The participant asks about notes precisely because they are a distinct part of the arrangement.
