Four visible wet-weather items

A coat and a poncho have different shapes

Un imperméable commonly names a raincoat. Un poncho de pluie names a broad rain poncho, often with room over clothing or a bag. The pictures distinguish a fitted coat shape with sleeves from a wide poncho shape.

Connect the protection word to water or wind

Imperméable describes a material that keeps water from passing through. Étanche means watertight in un sac étanche. Coupe-vent names protection against wind. Connect each word to the property it describes: water for imperméable and étanche, wind for coupe-vent.

Il pleut. Je prends une veste imperméable et une paire de chaussures de rechange.

It is raining. I’m taking a waterproof jacket and a spare pair of shoes.
