A French argument conclusion that follows from the evidence

End a French argument with a supported result, its key condition and a proportionate next step. Compare endings and practise spotting a new claim.

In short

Close with what your argument has established, keeping its main condition. Une réservation simple aiderait à organiser les activités can lead to a recommendation to test that process. A claim about higher attendance needs its own support in the body.

Start with the argument you actually wrote

Booking would make it possible to anticipate participant numbers and prepare the necessary equipment. However, an overly long process could put some people off. The centre could start with a short form, then review it after a month.

Conclure un argument · trois repères

1 · State the supported benefit

The body links booking to planning. Keep that link in the ending.

Booking would therefore help to organise the activities better.

2 · Carry the condition forward

The body also identifies a barrier: a long process. Retain the need for simplicity.

à condition que + subjonctifprovided that
à condition de + infinitifprovided that the same subject does something

Elle devrait cependant rester simple et rapide. It should, however, remain simple and quick.

3 · Choose a next step the body has prepared

Here the body already proposes a short trial. The conclusion can recommend it directly.

The centre would therefore benefit from testing a short form for a month.

How do you write a conclusion in French?

Does the ending follow?
EndingWhat it does
Adds a guaranteed attendance gain; the body discussed planning and a possible barrier.
Draws together the practical proposal already developed.
En conclusion, les activités seront désormais gratuites.Adds a funding decision the body never discussed.

Booking therefore deserves a trial to make organisation easier, provided that the process stays simple. An initial review after a month would allow the system to be adjusted.

Reste is the present subjunctive after à condition que. Permettrait keeps the review as a proposed step.

Watch the small changes in strength: pourrait becomes va, or certaines personnes becomes tout le monde. The topic can stay the same while the claim grows. A short ending can restate the central idea in fresh words and stop there.
