In short
A correction replaces an error, a précision adds or narrows information, and a retrait withdraws a claim or item. Read exactly which statement the update affects. An update to one figure does not automatically overturn every other statement.

A local site covers a community centre closure. Its updates contain three different editorial actions. The current version must preserve the corrected duration, the narrowed scope and the withdrawn explanation. Read the timeline, then use the ordering mode to reconstruct how the report changed.
The article announces a three-day closure for electrical checks and mentions twenty cancelled workshops.
- 09:00Correction : la fermeture est prévue pour deux jours, et non trois.Correction: the closure is planned for two days, not three.
Clarification: the twenty workshops are moved to another room; they are not cancelled.
Withdrawal: the newsroom removes the electrical-check explanation because that reason has not been confirmed.
The updated version gives a planned two-day closure and the relocation of twenty workshops.
Judge the substance as well as the label
The 10:20 update is headed précision, but it changes a meaningful point: relocation replaces cancellation. Editorial labels are clues, so inspect the actual before-and-after wording. The 11:15 withdrawal removes the explanation; it does not say the building will remain open. The duration correction still stands.
The duration was corrected, the status of the workshops clarified and the reason initially given withdrawn.
When citing the story, use the updated text and retain the reporting date if the status may evolve. La rédaction a retiré cette affirmation describes what happened to the claim. L’affirmation est fausse goes further and needs evidence of falsity. An unconfirmed explanation may be withdrawn without a definitive finding about what actually happened.
