In short
Plausible means credible as a possible explanation; probable suggests likelihood; avéré presents something as established. Présumé marks a presumption or attributed status whose exact force depends on context. These words are not interchangeable scores on one universal scale.

A plausible explanation may fit the clues without being the most likely one. A probable outcome can remain unconfirmed. An established date can coexist with a disputed motive. Read each adjective with its noun and scope, especially when a source uses a term such as présumé for a person’s alleged role.

Establish one detail, not everything
Une date confirmée does not establish who caused a delay. Un indice compatible does not prove a unique explanation. Use the noun phrase to identify exactly what the evidence supports. Avoid turning auteur présumé into auteur avéré in a paraphrase: that would change the status attributed to the person.
