In short
At a French welcome desk, la liste is the list, le badge is the badge and l’accueil is reception. Give your prénom and nom de famille. If you registered, say Je suis inscrit as a man or Je suis inscrite as a woman.

These twenty-four cards follow the order of a simple arrival: identify the people, recognise the objects on the table, then understand the details used to find a name. Keep the article with each noun. The cards for inscrit, inscrite, présent and absente show adjectives rather than objects, so their examples make the agreement visible.

Use the words in the order you need them
Bonjour, je suis inscrite. Mon nom de famille est Petit.
Hello, I’m registered. My surname is Petit.
The organiser can now look for Petit on the list. A prénom alone may be shared by several guests, so the surname helps locate the right entry. Once the name is found, Votre badge est sur la table tells you where to collect the badge. A cordon lets you wear it around your neck; a porte-badge is the holder that keeps the badge in place.
Registered does not mean present
Inscrit or inscrite means a person is registered. Présent or présente means the person is here. Someone can be registered and absent today. On a guest list, these facts may appear in different columns. To ask about registration, use Vous êtes inscrit ? or Vous êtes inscrite ? To ask whether someone has arrived, Il est là ? or Elle est là ? is a simple spoken option.
| Masculine | Feminine | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| inscrit | inscrite | registered |
| présent | présente | present |
| absent | absente | absent |
| invité | invitée | invited / a guest |
For a second pass through the deck, cover the English and build one arrival sentence with each group: a person arrives, an object is on the table, and a name is on the list. Then switch the person from Paul to Nora and change the adjective ending where needed. This connects the words to the small exchanges you will actually use.
