In short
From 0 to 69, French numbers are regular once you know 0–16: dix-sept is ten-seven, vingt et un uses et for 21, 31, 41, 51 and 61, and every other compound takes a hyphen: vingt-deux, quarante-cinq, soixante-huit.

How do you pronounce French numbers?
Listen for these
- six and dix end in an "s" sound alone (j'en ai six), are silent before a consonant (six livres) and say "z" before a vowel (six ans).
- huit loses its "t" before a consonant: huit jours sounds like "ui jour".
- vingt is "vin" alone, but the "t" is heard in vingt-deux through vingt-neuf.
How do you say prices and phone numbers in French?
Prices are read as euros, then cents, without the word centimes: 3,45 € is trois euros quarante-cinq. If the price is under one euro, say the cents alone: 0,60 € is soixante centimes. Shop staff often skip euros altogether: ça fait douze cinquante means €12.50.
Le menu du jour est à seize euros cinquante.
The set menu is €16.50.
No et, no centimes: just euros, then the cents number.
J'ai trente-huit ans et mon frère en a quarante et un.
I'm thirty-eight and my brother is forty-one.
Ages always use avoir: j'ai 38 ans, never je suis 38.
