In short
If an instruction is unclear, ask Vous pouvez répéter la consigne ? (Can you repeat the instruction?) or confirm Vous voulez dire la prochaine rue à droite ? Say what feels difficult with J’ai du mal à…, followed by an infinitive: J’ai du mal à doser l’embrayage.

1 · Explain what you want to practise
Une boîte manuelle is a manual gearbox. Use avoir du mal à + infinitive for a difficulty.

2 · Clarify the route before turning
Tout droit means straight ahead; à droite means to the right.
Driving instructorPrenez la prochaine rue à droite.Take the next street on the right.

Driving instructorOui, juste après le feu.Yes, just after the lights.
