Focus: One conjugated verb: simple future.
fer- + -ai
Elle ira à Lyon pour son stage.
She will go to Lyon for her placement.
Je vais faire une formation.I’m going to take a training course.
Focus: Present of aller + infinitive: near future.
vais + faire
Elle va aller à Lyon pour son stage.
She’s going to go to Lyon for her placement.
Both constructions can describe the same plan. Je vais aller is natural: vais builds the future construction, and aller names the action. Here, practise the simple future by choosing one conjugated verb for each gap.
- Je fairai une formation.Je ferai une formation.
Keep the short stem fer-. The infinitive’s ai disappears.
- Nous allerons ensemble.Nous irons ensemble.
The future stem of aller is ir-. Add -ons for nous.
What are the future forms of faire?
Je ferai le point avec ma responsable.
I will review the situation with my manager.
Faire le point means taking stock: you talk through where things stand.
Elle fera un stage en juin.
She will do a placement in June.
French uses faire un stage. Changing the tense keeps the rest of the expression together.
For the questions below, choose the stem first, then look back at the subject. Tu takes -as with either verb. Ils takes -ont. The destination or activity helps you recover the whole expression, so read each completed sentence aloud before checking it.
