The active sentence names the person or organisation doing the cancelling. The passive or result-state wording puts the booking first. Both can describe a cancellation, but their grammar is different. Start with the present, then use the six later tables as a reference extension.

What changes when the booking comes first?

L’agence a annulé la réservation. The agency cancelled the booking.

Focus: Active passé composé: avoir + annulé; réservation follows the verb.

She cancelled the viewings.

La réservation a été annulée.The booking was cancelled.

Answer and explanation

annulé. In this active sentence with the object after the verb, use a annulé.

Question 3No account needed
Complete: Les visites sont ___.

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

annulées. Visites is feminine plural, so the cancelled-state wording uses annulées.

Cancellation wording identifies an action or a status. It does not by itself explain refunds, fees or alternative arrangements. When those details matter, read the separate conditions or ask the contact a specific question instead of building them into the meaning of annuler.
