Breath planning for French sentences with figures and units

Plan French breath groups around percentages, units and comparisons while keeping each quantity intelligible in a written sorting exercise.

In short

Keep the quantity with its unit and its comparison base. Rehearse une hausse de dix pour cent / sur un an rather than splitting dix / pour cent. A boundary can follow the complete number phrase when the next group supplies a period or contrast.

A listener needs to recover how much, of what and compared with when. The page uses slashes for optional rehearsal boundaries, not measured pauses. Decide which cuts preserve an intelligible quantity before practising the sentences aloud.

Do not change the unit while simplifying

Deux points and deux pour cent are not automatically interchangeable. A change from 20 % to 22 % is two percentage points; its relative increase is a different calculation. Keep the supplied unit in the spoken relay rather than replacing an unfamiliar phrase with a more familiar but different one.
