In short
In a retrospective bilan, aura marqué can evaluate the significance of an already completed event. Context distinguishes this from completion before a future point and conjecture about a past event. A dated assessment frame is more informative than the verb form in isolation.

The title sentence is placed here in a 2025 assessment of an event completed in 2000. It presents a retrospective judgement about impact. The event itself is already past at the time of writing. The matching task makes the reference point explicit for each example.

A bilan looks back while judging significance
Au terme de cette période, l’ouverture du lieu aura constitué un tournant dans la vie du quartier.
Looking back at this period, the opening of the venue stands as a turning point in neighbourhood life.
The evaluative noun tournant and retrospective frame support the assessment reading. The wording presents how the writer sums up the period. It is more than identifying the auxiliary avoir in the future: the whole sentence supplies the viewpoint from which the event is evaluated.
The same morphology supports other readings
Quand le musée ouvrira… supplies a future reference point relative to which classification will be complete. Le collègue l’aura emporté hier instead uses aura emporté as conjecture about yesterday. That last use does not establish that the colleague actually took the file. The grammatical shape alone cannot replace these contextual distinctions.

This page practises recognition and paraphrase. When reading formal historical prose, identify the assessment frame before translating mechanically as a prediction. Preserve any difference between an evaluation and a conjecture in your summary.
