Check whether a French notice is still current

Ask whether a French notice is current, identify the replacement instructions and confirm which document, equipment and session time apply.

In short

Ask Cet avis est-il toujours valable ?, then identify its date and subject. Follow with Y a-t-il une version plus récente ? Confirm the practical instruction you need—what to bring, where to go or when to respond—rather than assuming every part of an old notice remains current.

You saved a notice about a workshop months ago. Before attending the new session, you call the organiser to check whether its equipment instructions still apply. The notice was genuine, but a later version has changed what participants need to bring.

Your lines are hidden in practice mode. Say them aloud, then reveal to compare.

Give the issuer a usable reference

The first question includes a date, but the organiser still needs the activity. A single organisation may publish many notices. Mention the title, activity or session before asking whether the instructions apply. Daté du 4 février describes the document’s date, rather than the date of your own reservation.

Separate changed and unchanged instructions

The equipment instruction changed; the start time did not. The speaker checks both instead of treating a revised notice as proof that every detail has changed. La confirmation sur mon téléphone suffit ? also clarifies the format required for a different item. These are practical questions tied to the organiser’s stated instructions, rather than general rules for all workshops.

Question 1No account needed
What replaces the equipment instruction?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Paper and pencils are provided.. Reception explains the change in the March version.

Question 2No account needed
What must the participant still bring?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Their registration confirmation. The organiser asks for the confirmation and says its number on a phone is sufficient here.

Question 3No account needed
Which detail remains unchanged?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

The ten o’clock start for next Saturday. The dialogue explicitly confirms the time for that session.

End by noting which version you will use. Replacing an old saved notice helps prevent the same uncertainty next time, while keeping the source link gives you a way to find any later update.
