Concede a technical benefit while rejecting its ethical justification in French

Practise an eighteen-line French ethics debate that grants a measured technical benefit while challenging its sufficiency as a justification for rollout.

In short

Grant the observed benefit and challenge the inference separately: J’accepte ce résultat ; il ne suffit pas à justifier la généralisation. Then name the additional criterion and a proportionate alternative. You need not attack the other speaker’s motives.

The speakers agree that the trial reduces average delay on the studied sites. B does not retract that concession. The disagreement concerns whether speed alone justifies expansion when users cannot refuse incompatible times. The alternative keeps some benefit while testing an added choice.

Your lines are hidden in practice mode. Say them aloud, then reveal to compare.

  3. A

    Il faut donc le généraliser.

    English

So it must be rolled out.

  4. B

Le gain technique ne suffit pas à justifier cette conclusion.

The technical gain does not suffice to justify that conclusion.

  16. B

Le délai et les refus d’horaire, suivis séparément.

Waiting time and rejected time slots, tracked separately.

    English

Waiting time and rejected time slots, tracked separately.

  17. A

Nous partageons donc le constat, mais pas encore la décision.

    English

So we share the finding, but not yet the decision.

  18. B

Oui, c’est la distinction que je souhaite maintenir.

Yes, that is the distinction I want to retain.

    English

Yes, that is the distinction I want to retain.

Refute the inference, not the finding

A benefit can be genuine yet insufficient for a decision. B therefore names both the accepted result and the unmet criterion. The final exchange records shared facts without fabricating shared approval. The proposed separate indicators also prevent the next trial from collapsing speed and choice into one unexplained score.

Question 1No account needed
What does B accept?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

A two-day reduction on the studied sites. The benefit is explicitly granted.

Question 2No account needed
What does B challenge?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

The leap from benefit to rollout. The target is the normative inference.

Rehearse the reply with another criterion. Keep the concession in one complete clause, then state what more the decision requires. This makes the logical disagreement clear without weakening the accepted evidence.
