In short
The present plural uses décriv- in nous décrivons, vous décrivez and ils décrivent. The singular is je décris, tu décris, il décrit. The participle is décrit, while the future uses décrir- as in je décrirai. Décrire follows the écrire family rather than a regular -re pattern.

A review can describe a set, a character or the way a story begins. The direct object is what you describe. Learn the plural v and the participle t as different parts of the paradigm; adding v everywhere would produce an incorrect past participle.

A preceding object can change the participle ending
J’ai décrit la scène. La scène que j’ai décrite ouvre le spectacle.
I described the scene. The scene I described opens the show.
The first object follows the participle, so décrit remains unchanged. In the relative clause, que stands for la scène and precedes avoir; the feminine direct object gives décrite. The additional e belongs to agreement, not the base participle in the table.
- Nous décrions le décor.Nous décrivons le décor.
For the intended meaning “we describe”, use décrivons. Décrions is grammatical as a form of décrier, meaning “criticise”; it changes the intended message.
- Elle a décrivé la scène.Elle a décrit la scène.
The participle is décrit, not a regular -é form.
- Je décriverai le roman.Je décrirai le roman.
The future stem is décrir-, without v.
Try describing one visible feature in a single sentence, then report that description in the past. Keep your opinion separate: Le décor représente une cuisine; je l’ai trouvé très sobre. The first clause describes, while the second evaluates.
