French B1 message task: correct the day without changing the plan

Correct a mistaken weekday in a French group chat while preserving the agreed event, venue and start time through three branching decisions.

In short

Say Petite correction : c’est jeudi, pas mercredi. Le reste ne change pas. This repairs the mistaken day in the message. Add the agreed time and place when useful. On reporte à jeudi instead presents a rescheduling, which is a different action.

Correcting a message need not reschedule the arrangement. Teaching illustration: Atelier

The group had already agreed on Thursday at 18 h in salle A. One message accidentally said Wednesday. Your task is to correct that message while keeping the existing arrangement. You are not choosing a new day or asking everyone to renegotiate the plan.

  1. Tu as écrit mercredi dans le dernier message. On avait prévu jeudi, non ?You wrote Wednesday in the last message. We had planned Thursday, hadn’t we?
  2. Correct your mistaken message without rescheduling the event.

  3. Et pour l’heure et la salle ?And what about the time and room?
  4. Preserve the agreed 18 h start in salle A.

  5. Tu peux corriger le message dans le groupe pour éviter la confusion ?Can you correct the message in the group to avoid confusion?
  6. Acknowledge and say what you will correct.

  7. Correction : notre atelier a bien lieu jeudi à 18 h, salle A. Mon message précédent indiquait mercredi par erreur.

Review the corrected group message

Correction : notre atelier a bien lieu jeudi à 18 h, salle A. Mon message précédent indiquait mercredi par erreur.

Correction: our workshop is indeed on Thursday at six p.m., in room A. My previous message said Wednesday by mistake.

Correction and rescheduling use different wording

Choose the action you mean
FrenchAction
J’ai écrit mercredi par erreur.Identify a mistake in the message.
C’est bien jeudi, comme prévu.Confirm the existing agreement.
On reporte le rendez-vous à jeudi.Move an event to Thursday.
On annule le rendez-vous.Cancel the event.

Comme prévu and a bien lieu point back to an agreement that remains valid. Reporter announces a change to the event itself. In this situation, only the information in the message needs repair. Naming that mistake keeps recipients from thinking they have missed a new decision.

Je corrige seulement le jour dans mon message ; l’organisation reste la même.

I am only correcting the day in my message; the arrangements stay the same.

If the weekday and numerical date conflict in a real exchange, verify which one is intended before confirming. This exercise supplies the agreement explicitly. Once the right day is established, send one complete corrected line so people do not have to reconstruct the plan from several conflicting messages.
