In short
Identify the bag, the part and the problem: Ma valise est bleue ; la poignée est cassée. Use Il manque une valise for a missing suitcase. Endommagée describes damage; it does not mean that the whole bag is missing.

The decks move from objects to the place where you ask for help, then to the condition you need to describe. Say each noun with its article. For adjective cards, read the example to see which form agrees with the noun. A specific part often explains the problem better than a general statement that the luggage is bad.

Let the noun choose the adjective
Valise, poignée, roulette, fermeture éclair and poche are feminine. Bagage, sac and cadenas are masculine. Compare ma valise est endommagée with mon bagage est endommagé. The adjective describes the named object, so changing from sac to poche can change its ending even when you are discussing the same piece of luggage.
Mon sac est intact, mais sa poche extérieure est déchirée.
My bag is intact, but its outside pocket is torn.

Find:
Missing is different from damaged
Il manque une valise says that a suitcase is absent. Une valise endommagée can be present but damaged. Introuvable adds that it cannot currently be found; it does not establish theft. Keep the wording tied to what you can observe or what staff have actually told you.
Build a short report with one identifying feature and one problem: C’est une valise noire avec une sangle rouge. Une roulette est cassée. If the bag is missing, describe it without guessing its cause. Keep any receipt or storage ticket available when the contact asks for it.
