How do you describe a landscape in French?
Depuis la colline, on voit une vallée. Au premier plan, un chemin longe la rivière. Un pont relie les deux rives. Au loin, le village se trouve au pied des collines.
From the hillside, you can see a valley. In the foreground, a path runs alongside the river. A bridge links the two banks. In the distance, the village lies at the foot of the hills.
Keep the same viewpoint while you describe the scene. À droite du village uses the village as its reference point; à droite du chemin uses the path. To add detail, choose a visible colour or shape: des collines vertes, un champ jaune, un petit pont en pierre. Le paysage names the view; le pays names a country.
