Mon appartement est lumineux.Yes: adds a description.
Dans le salon, il y a une grande fenêtre.Yes: moves into one room.
Le canapé est près de la fenêtre.Yes: places an object in that room.
Mon frère aime le football.Save it for a family paragraph.

Combine a repeated subject

Mon appartement est petit. Mon appartement est lumineux.

My flat is small. My flat is bright.

Both sentences describe the same place.

Mon appartement est petit mais lumineux.

My flat is small but bright.

Mais presents the brightness as a positive contrast with the small size.

You can also write Mon appartement est petit. Il est lumineux. The pronoun il refers to appartement, a masculine noun. Use the shorter version when the reference is clear.

How do you write a short paragraph in French?

J’habite dans un appartement au deuxième étage. Il est petit mais lumineux. Dans le salon, il y a une grande fenêtre. Le canapé est près de la fenêtre. J’aime cet appartement parce qu’il est calme.

I live in a flat on the second floor. It is small but bright. In the living room, there is a large window. The sofa is near the window. I like this flat because it is quiet.

The order narrows from the whole home to the living room, then the sofa. The last sentence gives a personal reaction and a reason. The paragraph works with several short sentences.
