Read a French bistro menu: formule, plat du jour, supplément

A real-looking French bistro menu with its prices, lunch deal and small print. Read it like a local, then answer questions about what you can order and pay.

In short

French menus split into entrées (starters), plats (mains) and desserts. A formule is a fixed-price deal (e.g. entrée + plat), le plat du jour changes daily, and supplément means an extra charge on top of the deal price.
