C1 French reading: compare a cooperative delivery proposal

Read three French contributions about a cooperative delivery, compare shared aims and unresolved collection arrangements, then test your interpretation.

In short

Compare the sources around two stages: the shared arrival of orders and members’ later collection. A proposes a fixed day, B asks how absent members will collect, and C makes that question a condition of approving the whole arrangement.

Read it in English

A: Combining orders into one shared delivery would reduce the number of appointments the team has to organise. We propose a fixed day announced in advance. This does not mean every member has to be there: later collection options would need specifying.

B: A fixed day would help with planning the delivery, but I cannot always come that day. I want to know where orders would be kept and when to collect them. I am not asking for individual home delivery; my question concerns access after the shared arrival.

C: No storage location is confirmed at present. Before choosing the day, let us check that collection can be arranged for members absent at delivery. Agreement on shared delivery is insufficient to approve the whole arrangement.

The objects help separate the two stages

The picture examples suggest questions you could ask about storage. Return to the dossier for the actual decision status: C says the storage location is still unconfirmed. Keep a proposed shelf or access arrangement separate from what the three contributions establish.

Compare by practical question
QuestionABC
Why group the delivery?Simpler scheduling for the team.Recognises the planning benefit.Treats agreement in principle as one stage.
What about absent members?Later collection needs specifying.Asks where and when to collect.Requires a workable collection arrangement.
What is ready to approve?Proposes a fixed day.Still needs access information.Storage must be checked before choosing the day.

The benefit of shared delivery does not settle collection. While A sees it as a way to simplify appointments, B mainly asks how to collect an order after it arrives. C makes that concern a prerequisite: storage and collection possibilities must be checked before fixing the day.

The paragraph follows the practical dependency. It moves from the expected benefit to access, then explains why access affects the decision. The words préalable and avant de carry that sequence.

Question 1No account needed
How does B respond to the fixed-day proposal?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

She accepts its planning benefit but asks about later access.. B calls the fixed day useful, then asks where and when she could collect after delivery.

Question 2No account needed
What does C add?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Collection feasibility must be checked before choosing the day.. C explicitly places the collection check before the choice of day, making it a prerequisite.

Question 3No account needed
What does réduirait express in A?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

An expected organisational benefit.. The conditional presents the anticipated effect of the proposal; the delivery system is still being discussed.

Question 4No account needed
Which summary preserves the dossier?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

The storage location remains open. B explicitly excludes home delivery, and C withholds complete approval.
