In short
French negative words can work together: Personne ne propose jamais rien means “Nobody ever suggests anything.” Personne names the absent actor, jamais means never, and rien means nothing. Keep ne and leave out pas in this pattern.

| Cue | French | What it contributes |
|---|---|---|
| No actor | personne | Nobody does the action. |
| No occasion | jamais | It happens on no occasion. |
| No thing | rien | There is no object or contribution. |
| Present pattern | Personne ne demande jamais rien. | A repeated pattern, rather than one missed request. |
| Past pattern | Personne n’a jamais rien demandé. | No request at any point up to now. |
Personne ne change jamais rien pendant nos échanges.
Nobody ever changes anything during our discussions.
All three negatives belong to one negative meaning; they do not cancel each other.
The cues describe repeated events or the whole history of a project. A single quiet meeting would justify “nobody said anything”, but would not by itself justify “nobody ever says anything”. Keep that difference when you build the sentence. Use the supplied verb and add all three negative words.
1 · Repeated event cues: use the present
- . (At every planning meeting, zero people suggest any ideas. Use proposer; start Personne.)
- . (At every briefing, zero people ask for anything. Use demander; start Personne.)
- . (During every review, zero people check anything. Use vérifier; start Personne.)
- . (In every discussion, zero people say anything. Use dire; start Personne.)
- . (At every handover, zero people explain anything. Use expliquer; start Personne.)
- . (In this group, zero people ever organise anything. Use organiser; start Personne.)
2 · The project history: use the passé composé
- . (Since the project began, no one has suggested anything. Use proposer; start Personne.)
- . (Since the first invitation, no one has confirmed anything. Use confirmer; start Personne.)
- . (Across all the reviews so far, no one has reported anything. Use signaler; start Personne.)
- . (Across all the meetings so far, no one has decided anything. Use décider; start Personne.)
- . (Across every handover so far, no one has forgotten anything. Use oublier; start Personne.)
- . (Across all the requests so far, no one has refused anything. Use refuser; start Personne.)
- Personne ne propose pas jamais rien.Personne ne propose jamais rien.
This combined negative pattern uses personne, jamais and rien with ne. Adding pas disrupts the intended meaning.
- Personne n’a proposé jamais rien.Personne n’a jamais rien proposé.
In these compound-tense sentences, jamais rien comes between the auxiliary and the past participle.
- Personne ne proposent jamais rien.Personne ne propose jamais rien.
As a negative pronoun meaning nobody, personne takes a third-person singular verb.
