French park vocabulary: explore paths, benches and landmarks

Explore twelve French park words, from benches to a pond, then follow a short walking route using the landmarks in the scene.

In short

A park path is une allée, a bench is un banc and a pond is un étang. Use them as landmarks with jusqu’à (as far as), après (after) and à côté de (next to). Follow the route from the gate to the picnic table.

Retrouver les amis

Vous êtes devant la grille du parc. Entrez et continuez tout droit1 dans l’allée. À droite, vous voyez un banc et une poubelle. Allez jusqu’à la fontaine2. Après la fontaine, prenez l’allée à gauche.

L’étang est devant vous. Traversez le petit pont. De l’autre côté, cherchez le grand arbre. Vos amis sont à la table de pique-nique, à côté de l’arbre3. Ils ont du pain, du fromage et des pommes. Vous êtes arrivés !

You are in front of the park gate. Go in and continue straight along the path. On the right, you see a bench and a rubbish bin. Go as far as the fountain. After the fountain, take the path on the left.

The pond is in front of you. Cross the small bridge. On the other side, look for the large tree. Your friends are at the picnic table, next to the tree. They have bread, cheese and apples. You have arrived!
