Use en for vehicles you sit inside (en voiture, en train, en bus, en avion, en métro) and à for things you ride on or your own feet (à pied, à cheval, à moto; à vélo and en vélo are both heard).

En, à or dans with transport?
| en | à | dans |
|---|---|---|
The logic: en when you're enclosed, à when you're on top or on foot. Some forms are changing: en vélo and en moto are now very common in speech.
