Read it in English
On Tuesday morning, the bookshop prepares a delivery for Mr Bernard. First, the shopkeeper checks the two books ordered. He puts them in a sturdy box. The parcel also contains a receipt. The shopkeeper seals the box with sticky tape.
Next, he sticks a label on the box. Mr Bernard’s name and address are clearly legible. At ten, a courier enters the bookshop. The shopkeeper hands him the parcel. The courier checks the address before loading his cargo bike.
Then the courier sets off towards Rue des Écoles. Outside the building, he phones Mr Bernard. The customer comes downstairs to open the door. The courier gives him the package and asks him to sign on his phone. Mr Bernard checks that his name appears on the label.
After the signature, the courier continues his round. Finally, Mr Bernard goes upstairs to his flat and opens the box. His order is complete: both books are there. He calls the bookshop to thank the shopkeeper. The parcel left the shop in the morning and arrived at the customer’s home before noon.
