The two nouns differ by one ending: le linge is the clothes and household linen, while la lessive is the detergent in this picture. Faire la lessive means doing the washing. Le hublot keeps le: say le hublot, with a space between the words.
Un panier, deux machines
Éva arrive avec son panier à linge. Elle regarde d’abord la centrale de paiement au fond de la pièce. Puis elle choisit le lave-linge à gauche. Elle ouvre le hublot et met ses vêtements dans la machine. Après le lavage, elle apporte le linge au sèche-linge. Elle attend sur une chaise près de l’entrée. Quand le linge est sec, elle le pose sur la table de pliage. Elle plie ses vêtements et les range dans le panier.
Éva arrives with her laundry basket. First she looks at the payment kiosk at the back of the room. Then she chooses the washing machine on the left. She opens the round door and puts her clothes in the machine. After the wash, she takes the laundry to the tumble dryer. She waits on a chair near the entrance. When the laundry is dry, she puts it on the folding table. She folds her clothes and puts them in the basket.
