Faire une lessive means to do a wash. La lessive can also mean the detergent; the bottle in the picture shows that meaning. Le linge is the washing itself. In the text, complete each gap with the French word for the English hint.

Read it in English
Lina wants to do a wash on Saturday morning. She asks Malik, “Are you using the machine this morning?” Malik replies, “Yes. The programme finishes at ten.”
Lina asks, “Can you collect your washing then?” Malik replies, “Not straight away. I’m in a meeting until half past ten.”
“Can I put your washing in the basket?” Lina offers. “Thanks, but I’d rather do it myself. The machine will be free around ten forty,” Malik replies.
Lina then suggests starting at eleven. “That suits me,” says Malik. “I’ll send you a message when the machine is empty.” Lina replies, “All right. Thanks for letting me know!”
