Read an instruction in four passes
1 · Find the action
Buttons often use an infinitive; a sentence can use the polite imperative.

2 · Find the object
A line, a folder and the contents of a field are different targets.
Supprimez la ligne sélectionnée.Delete the selected line.
Effacez le contenu du champ.Clear the contents of the field.
3 · Keep the order and limits
Read the whole line before deciding the sequence.
Enregistrez le fichier avant de fermer la fenêtre.Save the file before closing the window.
Imprimez uniquement la première page.Print only the first page.
Ne fermez pas cette fenêtre.Do not close this window.
4 · Read the status
An action label and a progress message describe different stages.
