« On dirait trois endroits différents ! » a-t-elle dit. Léo a souri.

Read it in English

The selection: For years, Léo had been collecting postcards of railway stations. One day, a neighbourhood association prepared an exhibition about travel. Léo offered to donate some cards. He took out his album and began sorting the images on the table. He wanted to choose views that visitors could compare.

He selected eight. Among them, three showed the same station at different times. In the oldest one, a small wooden waiting room was still visible. The organisers accepted this donation. They put the eight cards in frames, with Léo’s name beside them.

What remains: Léo kept the other cards in a grey box. Some reminded him of family trips; others were simply too damaged to be displayed. On opening day, he came with his sister. She spent a long time looking at the three views of the same station. “They look like three different places!” she said. Léo smiled. He might donate more cards later. For now, he wanted to finish organising the ones that had stayed at home.
