French writing check: complete the task and correct the language

Separate a missing request from a wrong verb form, compare two French replies and repair six sentences in a rescheduling email.

In short

Check the message and the French separately. “Did I ask for another time and explain why?” checks task completion. “Are the verb, preposition and agreement correct?” checks language. A reply can need either repair, or both.

Demandez un autre horaire pour votre rendez-vous et expliquez pourquoi vous souhaitez le déplacer.

Ask for another appointment time and explain why you want to move it.

Correct, mais incompletAccurate but incomplete

Focus: the requested actions are absent

Appointments are important in everyday life. Thank you for your attention.

Une demande et sa raisonA request and its reason

Language accuracyDoes the wording express the intended message correctly?Repair the specific form while keeping the useful content.
  • Je suis besoin d’un autre horaire.J’ai besoin d’un autre horaire.

French uses avoir besoin de. The request is relevant; the verb needs repair.

  • Je suis disponible de mardi.Je suis disponible mardi.

For this available day, use mardi directly. Keep the practical availability information.

  • Les propositions sont clair.Les propositions sont claires.

Propositions is feminine plural, so claires takes -es.

Now edit six lines from a new rescheduling message. Each gap targets a language feature; the surrounding sentences already provide a request, a reason and availability. Read the whole line after filling it. A grammatically correct completion should also preserve the intended message: the group cannot attend Friday, and asks for another time.

1 · Repair the wording of the message

  1. Nous ne pas venir vendredi. (pouvoir: present with nous)
  2. Nous à l’heure prévue. (travailler: present with nous)
  3. Nous déplacer notre rendez-vous. (souhaiter: conditional with nous)
  4. Pourriez-vous nous un autre horaire ? (proposer: infinitive)
  5. Les dates nous conviennent. (proposé: agree with dates)
  6. J’ votre réponse avant de confirmer. (attendre: present with je)
