1 · Not yet: the decision is still open
Pas encore denies completion up to now. It leaves the later outcome open.
| pas encore fixée | still undecided |
La date n’a pas encore été fixée.The date has not been set yet.
2 · No longer: a previous practice has ended
Read the method after the verb. Ending phone registration leaves other methods to be checked elsewhere in the passage.

3 · Never: read the period being discussed
Jamais can cover a person’s experience up to now or a stated habit. The surrounding tense and context matter.
Léa n’a jamais participé à cet atelier.Léa has never taken part in this workshop.
Les réunions n’ont jamais lieu le dimanche. The meetings never take place on Sundays.
4 · Only: a restriction
Ne…que keeps a positive fact and limits it. Here the limit concerns time.
Les inscriptions ne sont ouvertes que le matin.Registration is open only in the morning.
5 · Neither method is available
Keep both parts of ni…ni. The sentence rejects two named methods.
On ne peut s’inscrire ni par téléphone ni sur place. You can register neither by phone nor in person.
6 · Not X, but Y: keep the correction
The words after mais supply the replacement detail.
La réunion n’aura pas lieu vendredi, mais samedi. The meeting will take place on Saturday rather than Friday.
