In short
Give the courier three details: the entrance, the exact drop-off spot and how to contact you. For example: L’entrée est à gauche. Vous pouvez laisser le colis sous le porche. Envoyez-moi un message, s’il vous plaît. Ask Faut-il une signature ? before agreeing to leave it.

1 · Identify the delivery
Un colis is a parcel. The final s is silent in the singular and plural.
2 · Explain access
Au fond means at the far end. À droite means on the right.
3 · Agree on a sheltered spot
Déposer means to put something down at the agreed place. Name a spot that both of you can identify.
4 · Check the signature and confirm arrival
If the courier says a signature is needed, ask what other arrangement is possible.
