French synthesis comparison matrix: proposal, request or silence?

Build a French source matrix with precise entries for proposals, requests and missing information. Use a museum dossier to turn one row into a synthesis sentence.

In short

Give each row a precise question and each column a source. Record the idea together with its status: envisagé, demandé, non précisé. An empty cell means the source leaves the question open; it supplies neither agreement nor opposition.

Matrice de comparaison · fiche

1 · Give the row a question

“When would it open?” produces comparable entries. “Positive or negative?” pushes every source towards a side.

Quel créneau est envisagé ou demandé ?Which time slot is being considered or requested?

2 · Keep the status beside the idea

A proposal and an agreed decision occupy different positions in the matrix.

une ouverture envisagéean opening under consideration
une ouverture confirméea confirmed opening

3 · Distinguish silence from rejection

Use separate entries for a missing detail and an explicit refusal.

non précisénot specified
explicitement refuséexplicitly rejected

4 · Carry the population into the cell

The request belongs to the visitors interviewed. Keep that group visible when drafting.

Les visiteurs interrogés demandent des créneaux après le travail. The visitors interviewed ask for after-work slots.

Le créneau envisagé par le musée correspond au type d’horaire demandé par les visiteurs interrogés, qui ne précisent toutefois aucun jour. Le coût de cette ouverture n’est pas chiffré dans le budget présenté.

The time slot considered by the museum matches the kind of hours requested by the visitors interviewed, who nevertheless specify no day. The cost of this opening is not given in the budget presented.

Read across the time-slot row, then use the budget row to preserve the implementation gap.

The matrix makes the connection visible: Thursday evening is an after-work slot. It also keeps the difference visible: the visitors have not selected Thursday. The cost entry records a gap in this budget. It gives no amount and no decision about funding. A useful synthesis sentence can bring those facts together while keeping each source’s contribution distinct.

Question 1No account needed
Which entry belongs under B for the proposed day?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Aucun jour précisé.. B asks for after-work slots but names no day; Thursday comes from A.

Question 2No account needed
Which entry accurately records C?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

Coût non chiffré dans le budget présenté.. An absent costing gives an information gap, rather than a zero cost or a funding refusal.

Question 3No account needed
What can the completed matrix support?

Choose one answer.

Answer and explanation

A relationship between a proposed evening slot and a general request.. The entries support a match in time of day; they supply neither a causal history nor a unanimous choice.
