How do you name packaging in a French supermarket?
| Some… | A package or measure |
|---|---|
| des pâtes | un paquet de pâtes |
| du lait | deux briques de lait |
| de l’eau | trois bouteilles d’eau |
| des œufs | une douzaine d’œufs |
For these shopping quantities, use de or d’ after the measure. The container carries the number: un paquet, deux paquets. The food keeps its own form: du riz → deux paquets de riz. Une boîte can be a tin or a box; une boîte de thon is a tin, and une boîte de biscuits is a box.
