Verb drill

French self-corrections: keep the final day, number or meaning

Practise French repairs with pardon, non, plutôt and je veux dire. Keep the final detail while preserving the rest of the message in an eight-item drill.

In short

When a French speaker corrects a detail, replace that detail and keep the rest. On part mardi… pardon, mercredi, à huit heures leaves you with Wednesday at eight. Je veux dire can also make a description more precise.

A correction has a target. In trente exemplaires, keep the quantity thirty rather than adding twenty and thirty. In the Lyon example, the speaker broadens the location from the city to its region. A brief c’est bien ça ? checks the final detail before you pass it on. In J’aime le café, mais pas le café froid, mais pas limits a preference; the speaker keeps liking coffee.
