In short
Say what you can hear, then ask for a change: On entend la musique dans notre chambre. Est-ce que vous pourriez baisser un peu le volume, s’il vous plaît ? Finish with a simple Merci, bonne soirée.

Introduce yourself and explain
Use vous with a neighbour you address formally. Du dessous means downstairs relative to their flat.
Add the reason that applies to you
Choose one line for your situation. J’essaie and j’essaye are both correct spellings.
Respond to an end time
Check the result a little later
Le bruit is noise in general; le volume is the level you want someone to lower. En attendant brings the request back to the present while you acknowledge a later finishing time. The final two replies above are alternatives: choose the one that matches what you hear after the change.
