French exception clauses: what changes after à moins que?

In short

À moins que means “unless”: it introduces the event that changes the stated plan. Its optional ne leaves that event positive: à moins qu’elle ne réponde means “unless she replies”. Keep the default plan, exception and any later confirmation separate.

What does à moins que change in a sentence?

The first ne, in Léa ne demande, is expletive. The real negatives appear in ne sera pas diffusée and n’a pas encore répondu. Read those full groups rather than counting every ne as a separate “not”.

The presence of pas changes the exception

In the second clause, pas gives a real negative: the exception is a lack of reply. In the message above, there is no pas after demande: the exception is a request for a correction. Keep that direction in your notes.

A short message that keeps the branches

L’envoi est prévu vendredi. Si Léa demande une correction, il sera reporté à lundi. Nous attendons encore sa réponse.

Sending is planned for Friday. If Léa requests a correction, it will be postponed until Monday. We are still waiting for her reply.

This paraphrase keeps the default, trigger and pending response visible.

Rereading is a prerequisite for circulating a revised version. The message leaves the time of that rereading open. A summary can keep this requirement alongside the dates instead of turning the plan into a report that everything has already happened.
