Read it in English

Camille is visiting two flats. The first, on rue Gambetta, is big: sixty square metres. The second, with blue shutters, is smaller: forty-five square metres.

But the second is cheaper than the first: seven hundred euros instead of nine hundred. It's also closer to her work.

Both are equally bright. On the other hand, the first one's kitchen is better: it's new and very well equipped.

Camille thinks it over. "I sleep better in a quiet area, and the street with the blue shutters is very quiet." She chooses the flat with the blue shutters.

Meilleur or mieux?

Meilleur is the comparative of the adjective bon and agrees with a noun: une meilleure cuisine. Mieux is the comparative of the adverb bien and goes with a verb: je dors mieux. Plus bon and plus bien don't exist. Tip: if you could say good in English, use meilleur; if you could say well, use mieux.
