In short
State where the quotation will appear, check the exact wording and ask Quelle présentation souhaitez-vous dans l’article ? to agree the credit. Citer repeats someone’s words; reformuler expresses the idea in different words.

The speaker corrects the scope of the quotation.
3 · Agree the credit

4 · Confirm the final scope
A request for another publication gets a separate answer.
| Form | Example | What to check |
|---|---|---|
» | Keep the agreed words inside quotation marks. |
| Make clear whose view you are reporting. |
| Ask about the version you plan to publish. |
Présenté agrees with the person addressed: use présentée when writing to a woman. In a message, Quelle présentation souhaitez-vous dans l’article ? asks the same question with a form that stays unchanged.
