Choose a French revision priority from real feedback: repair meaning, check recurrence and pick a focused next task. Includes a decision sheet and quiz.

In short

Start with the problem that most affects what the reader or listener understands. Check whether it recurs, then choose a small activity you can use in your next task. Keep a short later list so one missing accent does not distract you from an unanswered request.

1 · First, check the message

Look for a missing request, reason, negative or practical detail. Ask what the recipient needs to understand or do.

Je ne peux pas venir vendredi.I cannot come on Friday.

Pourrions-nous choisir un autre jour ?Could we choose another day?

2 · Then, check recurrence

Find two or three actual examples. Write the pattern beside them, along with any model or dictionary you used.

Je voudrais déplacer notre rendez-vous.I would like to move our appointment.

Pourriez-vous confirmer la nouvelle date ?Could you confirm the new date?

3 · Choose one action

Make the next activity small enough to finish and inspect. For an unclear request, write a request and a reason for two new situations.

Je ne suis pas disponible jeudi, car je travaille. Serait-il possible de reporter le rendez-vous à vendredi ?I am unavailable on Thursday because I am working. Would it be possible to move the appointment to Friday?

4 · Check it in fresh content

Close the model, try a related task and read back the target feature. Then decide what deserves attention next.

For these notes, the immediate target is a request plus a reason. That gives you something concrete to inspect in the next email. Keep the accent and repeated connector on your later list; they can be checked when the task’s main action is clear.

Repair the action before polishing the style

Je vous écris au sujet du rendez-vous. Vendredi est mieux pour moi.

I am writing about the appointment. Friday is better for me.

The reader has a preference, but still needs a clear request.

Pourriez-vous déplacer notre rendez-vous à vendredi ? Je travaille jeudi et je ne peux pas me libérer.

Could you move our appointment to Friday? I am working on Thursday and cannot get away.

The action and its reason are now explicit.

Now change the situation: ask for more time to send a report because one part is still being checked. Write two sentences with the model closed. Underline the request and circle the reason. If both are present and fit the new situation, choose the next issue from your feedback.
